Little Tucker
| UPDATE
4-26-2007 ... Li'l Tucker has gone to the Bridge Hi Carole....we just wanted to let you know that our Lil Tucker, whom we adopted from you in May of 2002 has gone to the bridge today. He'd gone into kidney failure unfortunately but also suffered from a stage 5 out of 6 heart murmur. He was about 14 or so. We loved him so much and are so grateful to you for letting us adopt him almost 5 years ago. Thank you again - Tucker was the best dog in the world. Best regards, Sharon and Bill

This
little fellow came to us because his people had died. He had
been taken in by some nice people but they couldn't take care of him.
Now, we'll be honest, Tucker is older but not ancient. He
appears to have had a hard life though. His canine teeth are
literally worn down almost to the gums. This could be the result of
trying to chew his way out of a cage or fence. Who can say. This
does not give him any trouble though as he can eat anything, and
generally does. He's kind of on the chubby side. Also,
upon examination when we had him neutered, I found a 22 slug just
under the skin on the inside of one of his back legs. Again, who
knows where it came from or what happened. Of course, it was
removed. It appears he could have had a misspent youth chasing
chickens or the ladies. That's about it. Tucker isn't a
ball of fire and would love nothing more than to spend his senior
years with someone who likes to hang out on the front porch or in
front of the TV. He does enjoy long walks and offers that anyone
lucky enough to have him for a buddy, will have a long life because of
his propensity for long walks.
UPDATE 10-26-2005: We recently received the following note & new pictures of the sweet guy & his new little "sister". Hi Carol, I hope that you remember us. We adopted Tucker in May of 2002. This is an update on the ol' guy. Dr. Wright thinks he's about 10-13 right now. He acts like he's about 7 if you ask me.
Tucker is doing fantastic. Still struggles
with back pain sometimes. Especially when the weather gets cooler. A
1/4 prednisone a week does the trick and aspirin does fine the rest
of the time. It didn't take me long to figure out every little
