UPDATE - February 01, 2006 11:25 AM I just wanted to thank you so much for letting us adopt little Marley. She is a treasure. We took her straight to the vet to have her stitches removed. She was a great hit at the vet's office. The whole staff came in to meet the new Scoggins baby and each one brought her a treat. She was wormed and our groomer gave her a bath. She is scheduled to have her heartworm problem corrected next Tuesday. It will take 3 days at the clinic and we will really miss her but it must be done so that she can live a long and healthy life. We had a good night with her. She is completely housebroken and has been good in asking to go out There have been a few minor skirmishes with the older male schnauzer but nothing serious. They were eating together a little while ago. She just met the cat this morning and there seemed to be no problem there. She would not get into the little bed that I prepared for her and spent the night curled up on the family room couch. We love her already. She is such a great addition to our family. Thanks again for our wonderful little girl and for the great work that you do with homeless dogs. I will tell anyone who wants a new friend about Animal Angels. Gratefully UPDATE2 - February 01, 2006 1:16 PM Words cannot tell you how happy we are to have Marley. She was a little timid with me at first but now comes and lets me rub her ears. We have already bonded. I get up several times a night ( most old men do) and at two a.m. she came on command, went out did her business and scratched at the door to come in. Bounded into bed room to be sure Betty was still there then crawled back up onto the den couch, curled up and went to sleep. Ditto 4 a.m. Dr Gumfrey, our vet, was thrilled that Betty had found a replacement so soon for the dog she lost. He held Marley's little head in his hands and said: "Honey, you are in heaven and don't realize it yet." Thank you so much for making this happiness possible. Our 17 pound yellow long haired tabby, Marshall Dillion, came in this a.m. and met her. (He prefers to sleep in his little insulated cubby hole under my work bench in the garage. I have a shop light placed near to keep him warm and cozy. He really thinks he is a dog that can't bark. He comes on command. He is SO gentle and kind we do not see any problem there. He was a foundling that appeared in our peach tree one evening about ten years ago and after Betty fed him a can of tuna fish, he decided to stay on. God bless you in your work and thanks
a million for making it possible for us to adopt Marley. UPDATE - February 25, 2006:
Hi Carole & Pat, She continues to be a joy. We really love her and are so grateful that she is a part of our family. She is such a smart little girl and learns very quickly. Marley and Merle have bonded too. She loves to get on his lap and they both take a little snooze each afternoon. Marley and Also are getting along quite well too.
Thanks again for our precious little girl. |
