UPDATE 9-21-2005:

Just an update to let you know that Spencer is doing well.  At night he sleeps on a pillow at the foot of our bed, during the day he has adopted a padded dog kennel that Jim set up in one of the rooms.  If he gets tired or scared during the day he goes in there to lie down. We have finally convinced him not to dig in the yard.  It was really tough going for awhile.  He buried every bone we gave him at first.  Now he chews on them til he's tired of them then usually leaves them in the kennel.  He tried to dig out a couple of times, also chewing and breaking the wooden fence in the process.  We had to replace a couple of sections of fencing to make sure he stays in the yard.  Fortunately he has also stopped that now.

Spencer and Tip are inseparable.  Where ever he goes, she goes, and vice versa.  They roll and tumble all over the yard, chase the ducks when they come up to the fence looking for food, and chase rabbits that make the mistake of coming in the yard.

I would say he has adjusted to our household nicely!

Ann
