In Memoriam ... At the end of the Rainbow Bridge there is a Peaceful Valley where our beloved pets who have gone before wait for us. Someday we will be together again.

She and her
siblings were born to Sugar and Boe. Sugar is a pretty little Chocolate
Lab X and Boe is a Yellow Lab X. I’m not sure but I believe they may be
brother and sister. They belonged to some people who first brought the
puppies to our vet. They said they were going to keep the mom and dad.
They even had Sugar, the mom, spayed and took her home. A few days later,
they brought both parents back and dumped them too. We were told that when the puppies were a couple of weeks old, Boe had picked one of the little female pups up by the hindquarters and shook her but she appeared to be okay. A few days after we got them, she did seem to be okay then suddenly one day, she couldn’t support her self with her back legs. I brought her inside and began doing hydrotherapy and keeping her separated from her littermates to see if the injury would repair itself. Their little bones are still soft and often, they will mend without any help whatsoever. I kept her in a playpen and she seemed happy but wasn’t mending. I took her to be x-rayed and it showed that there appeared to be no broken bones, hence there was no reason she couldn’t walk. We then were faced with the possibility that the injuries were neurological and her chances of healing dropped drastically. Still hoping she would recover, I ask a good friend that has a pool and a hot tub, if she would try hydrotherapy and see if maybe swimming would promote muscle tone. Unfortunately I hate to say, this was not to be. On Saturday, June 12, sweet little Abby was allowed to cross over. I hope she will forgive me for causing her any pain at all because I did so want her to be okay. She’s whole
and happy now and in the company of many, many wonderful animals.
