In Memoriam ...
At the end of the Rainbow Bridge there is a Peaceful Valley
where our beloved pets who have gone before wait for us.
Someday we will be together again.

CAESAR Update
03/29/2004

Sadly, sweet Caesar was humanely euthanized this morning.  After examination of the x-rays by the orthopedic specialists, it was determined that his injuries were just too severe to ever allow him the quality of life that he deserved.   Not only was his left leg shattered beyond repair & would have required amputation, there was extensive damage to his right hip.  He would have been in surgeries, casts & traction for over a year & then there was no guarantee that he would not be paralyzed in his hindquarters.  It was decided that the last act of love we could give this beautiful boy was a peaceful crossing to that beautiful place where he is once again whole in body & spirit.  He now romps & plays, free of pain, in a lush meadow at the end of the Rainbow Bridge where we will all meet again someday.

Donations that have been received for his medical care will be placed in the general fund & used for the benefit of the other animals in our care.  Thank You to all who responded.

Caesar, a beautiful 1 yr. old Black Labrador with a severely broken rear leg was brought into our vet's clinic today.  When told of the options regarding the dog's leg (which included possible amputation due to the severity of the break), the owner said that they "didn't want a 3-legged dog - just put him to sleep".  They released their rights to him & left.

Animal Angels has taken responsibility for this magnificent young dog.  We will work with our veterinarians to provide the medical care he needs.  If surgery can save this young dog's leg, it will be very provided.  If the vets decide that  amputation is the best choice, that also will be done.  We can only hope that the extent of his injuries is such that he will heal & resume a happy life.  Either way,  we will do what is determined to be in the best interest of this magnificent animal.
