Georgia Girl

Little Miss Georgia Girl only wanted a nice cuddly lap to sit on & someone to love her & make her feel wanted.  When this wonderful lady adopted her, Miss Georgia got everything her little heart could desire.  We feel that this was a perfect match for both of them & we wish them many happy years together.

UPDATE 10-11-2005:
The Great Hunter caught her first squirrel this afternoon--and tried to hide it under the skirted table in the living room!! In all this, I just love her to pieces! She goes for her physical tomorrow morning.

Update 10-12-2005:
G. went for her physical today. She weighs 14 lbs--a mite too heavy, I should keep giving her the same amt of food but ration it for morn and night. She got her chip inserted, rabies shot, and all the other things--heartworm meds, flea repellent, etc., etc.  All the doctors & techs oohed and aahed over the kid. She didn't cut up the way she did with you--they did her nails & gave her all the shots and she only whined a little at the toes.

She's in the back yard looking for squirrels. She's a real hunter. I noticed she was lying quietly on her tummy but ready to spring and watching a squirrel come down a tree. She didn't catch that one! She's my pride and joy. Expensive right now, but all of that won't need to be repeated for another year. She's worth it & I'm glad I could spend it on her.

UPDATE 10-28-2005:
Georgia and I are still learning about each other. I've learned that she knows "Stay", "Get back", and "No", and have used them when opening a door. She obeys quite well; when I get the paper in the mornings, she keeps a respectable distance from the door. I may take her to PetSmart for obedience training but she learns quickly.

Yesterday, I took her to Canine Commissary for a fitting for collar and harness, and bought a leash. Her original collar was causing her to scratch there more than any where else--I got her a dainty one. We go back today for another fitting of the harness--she promptly pulled out of that one when we entered the house and she had seen squirrels in the yard--she didn't want to wait for anything, so she jumped out of the traces. She travels well.

I still think Georgia is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time! She is so sweet, anxious to please, and is truly a lap dog. I'm so grateful to you and your choice for me. I just love her to death!

Update 10-30-2005:
Carole, that Georgia is a good 'un!! She caught another squirrel this morning and brought it to the dining room--I put it in the garbage but didn't tell her. Now, she's looking all over the house for her treasure.

Miss Priss is a fast learner. She no longer crowds me at the doors when I'm going out; when I'm coming in, she backs about 4 ft away from the door and sits. She's almost too smart to be a dog! She has lost 2 pounds, weighs 12, because I've lessened her food a bit and she runs all day, chasing squirrels. I may have to increase her food when she loses 1 more pound. I don't what her to be portly, but neither do I want a canine Twiggy.

I'm still in love with her. You did a good match for me when you picked Georgia. No one could love her more than I.

UPDATE 11-05-2005:
Yesterday was another remarkable day for the Ms Priss! Georgia was standing at the porch door when she spied Helen and Buttons in the front yard planting pansies. She yipped and yapped so loudly, I decided to put the collar and leash on her and go visiting. All was well between Buttons and Georgia.

A young lady was walking her Boxer; our 2 pooches spied the Boxer and started sounding the alarm that a stranger was approaching. Then, when the lady allowed the Boxer to approach us as we were sitting on the ground, all canine hell broke loose! Buttons finally laid down and left the defense to Georgia. Helen grabbed Georgia and held on to her for dear life!! Georgia was ready to chew that Boxer to bits--she growled, barked and strained at the leash, and Helen had to scold her to make her shut up. There was noise from my little darling until the lady and Boxer were back on the sidewalk. Georgia evidently thinks she could take on that big Boxer and win!

Georgia went to bed early; she was tired after her magnificent defense of our properties.
