Lucy's pups went to good homes of their own within just a couple of months but sweet Lucy was overlooked in favor of younger, "prettier" animals. Lucy was a favorite at the Sanctuary because of her gentle nature & we knew that some day, her very Special Person would find her. That day came in June, 2005. A nice couple who had previously been the guardians of a GSD/Collie mix saw her on our website. Everything worked out & Lucy went home to her new life. A couple of updates are below. We look forward to new pictures soon & will post them when we receive them. UPDATE 6-15-2005: The trip home was fine. She rides very well in the car. She was busy checking out the big house we live in. She went for her first walk last night and a long one this morning. She does well on the leash. We did meet a couple of cats on the way and she did try to chase them but with her tail wagging. Our cat, Cuddles, is still hiding in the closet. She came out last evening and jumped on the kitchen counter. Lucy wanted to play with her but Cuddles wasn't quite ready for that yet. But during the night she did come to our bed as as she always does. Lucy slept well through the night. Lucy is very sweet and gives my husband and me lots of kisses. I think she will be very happy here. UPDATE
6-16-2005: I will be happy to take
some pictures and also keep you updated on Lucy. We love her dearly and
she will be happy here, I assure you. She seems to like our big air
conditioned home, why wouldn't she. UPDATE
6-21-2005: Just wanted to give you
an update. Lucy is wonderful and happy. Although at first she did
not seem to know what sit, come and stay means, she has learned (or
remembered) it very well. UPDATE
