In Memoriam ... At the end of the Rainbow Bridge there is a Peaceful Valley where our beloved pets who have gone before wait for us. Someday we will be together again.

We had to make the tough decision to set Lucy free of the cancer that just would not let go of her body. We tried very hard to beat or even manage Lymphoma and Lucy humored me through the chemo treatments, alternative meds and supplements that slowed the cancer and sometimes held it at bay but we could find nothing that would send the cancer into remission. I expected her to start feeling poorly and stop eating and that is how we would know it was time. We did not expect the edema in her legs and body that resulted from her clogged lymph pathways and left her very uncomfortable and made walking very difficult. She just did not want to get up at all and lost interest in food and even though she would try when I asked her, she was weary and we knew it was time. She left peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 14, 2006. We brought her ashes home yesterday. Lucy joined our family in January 1995 when she was about a year old. She’d been a stray at the railroad tracks in Fort Worth and made her way to Animal Angels rescue where we found and adopted her. She was a magnificent and very special pup. Words cannot express how much we valued her as a member of our family, loved her and miss her.
Many of you supported and helped us as we tried to give Lucy the
best life and chance possible and for that we are very grateful.
Thank You!
