In
July, 2003, a tech working at our vet's office found 2 sweet pups on her
way to work one morning. Luke (the golden one) & his sister Leia
(mostly black) were about 6 months old, malnourished & much in
need of some TLC. Efforts to locate an owner failed & after
vetting, the pups came to the Sanctuary.
In the Fall of 2003,
Luke was transferred to a DFW area rescue organization where he could
get more public exposure & he was soon adopted. His new family
sent this update recently:
UPDATE -
6/30/2004
Hope all is
well with you. I wanted to send you a update picture of Miles (formerly
Luke) from his Christmas photos. He is just as sweet as ever and an
absolute baby. Whenever I sit on the floor he wants to sit on my lap and
have his sides petted (I don't think he realizes he is a dog)! He
provides so much laughter and fun in our home, as he is an absolute clown,
and he is so loyal and sweet, he follows me around everywhere.
He
and our other dog get along well which is amazing because we had them both
in obedience class and she didn't like any of the other dogs there. Miles
did very well in obedience and is very quick to obey a command once he
understands it. He likes to anticipate what you want him to do and so he
will sit without being prompted whenever he sees me grab a treat from his
"cookie" jar. He also loves to run circles around our kitchen table when
I come home from work, passing by for a pet with each round. I call it
our little merry-go-round. He is just precious and we are so happy to
have him as part of our family.
Thanks for placing him with us.
