This pretty girl with the soulful eyes was sitting in a high-kill municipal shelter in Texas when an associate of ours saw her.  She asked if we could find a spot for her.  It just happened that a former adopter of ours had recently expressed a desire to add another Bluetick to their family.

Miss Moonshine packed up her bones & toys & was soon headed on a cross-country trip to her new home in Louisiana.  She has joined Lady Belle & Molly on what their people now refer to as "Bluetick Acres".

We look forward to new pics & updates soon & will post them as we get them.

UPDATE 8-03-2005:

Hi Carole,

We've finally given our new girl a name. She is now Moonshine. She has settled in very nicely even though it has only been a few days. Belle and Molly, our other Blueticks, have accepted her, although not quite wholeheartedly yet. However, last night they all romped together on the lawn, which was a joy to see. I got dizzy looking at all the black and white ticking! They do look spectacular together!

This morning I went on a horseback ride and Moonshine went with me the whole way, while the other two caught scents and got sidetracked. My horse Rip wasn't too sure about her and kept looking back. I guess he knew she was a new, untried companion. She did well, though, and kept her distance from his hooves.

She is so affectionate that it didn't take long for us to love her. In fact, I had fallen for her before we got home from picking her up. So Carole, you found us a good one, and even though we didn't NEED another dog, she needed us--and now she is part of our family.
