At the end of the Rainbow Bridge there is a Peaceful Valley
where our beloved pets who have gone before wait for us.
Someday we will be together again.

In Memory
of those who wait for us there.

I Believe in Angels

I believe animals are Angels
In soft furry disguise
With wet pink tongues and wagging tails
And wonderful knowing eyes.

I believe they are Angels
Who ask for but one thing.
To love them until the day does come
When God shall give them wings.

I believe they are Angels
Gone to live in that special place
You only have to look in your heart
To see their glowing face.

Do I believe in Angels?
You better believe I do
And once you’ve looked into their eyes
I know you will believe it too.

Do Dogs Go To Heaven?

My little Bailey passed away,
no more to breathe a sound.
I held her for the last time, then entombed her in the ground.
Day and night I wept so much, in tears I thought I'd drown.
I searched my soul for comfort, but no peace therein was found.

In great despair, I hit my knees and then began to pray.
"Father will I ever see,
my dog again someday?"
I raised my eyes and saw an angel standing near a gate.
I sensed an inner peace I'd never felt before that day.

The angel smiled and said to me, "Oh ye of little faith!
God sees every bird that falls;
He knows your Bailey's fate.
I have met your little dog,
I saw her pass my way.
Your precious dog is still alive; she just walked through this gate.

Paradise is lovelier than you can comprehend.
No pain or grief, no tears or fears, and life will have no end.
God gave to man His only Son, to cover all his sins.
So why would God withhold from you, your pure and loving friend?”

The angel took me by the hand and said, "Now come with me.
A glimpse of paradise I'll give,
to you so you can see."
Through the gate and o'er the Rainbow Bridge we did proceed.
Through green valleys filled with flowers, rolling hills and trees.

“Wow, so this is paradise!”
The place was filled with joy.
I saw my Bailey playing there, with dogs and cats and toys.
She also had some doggie treats, and food that she enjoyed.
She'd made a lot of new friends there, including girls and boys.

Then I saw a child come near, and hug my little mate.
She said to her, "I love you so," and kissed her on the face.
The angel said, "The child just crossed the Rainbow Bridge today.
Now she needs a little friend, to love and help her play.

God’s love for her would be enough, in that make no mistake.
But in His love, He knew full well, the child would want a mate.
This is why God called your dog unto this splendid place.
God’s entrusted the girl with her, ‘til you pass through the gate."

I pleaded, “May I hug them both?!” The angel answered, “No!
You’d violate a sacred site,
and now it’s time to go.”
He led me back across the Bridge and through the gate to home.
He left me there with new-found hope and peace within my soul.

If someone ever asks what happens to a dog that dies,
Just give a gentle smile of joy and look them in the eye.
Take their hand and comfort them and tell them not to cry.
For dogs don’t die, they simply cross a bridge to Paradise.

MEMORIAL FOR MY GODDOG

Many years ago, a good friend of mine surprised everyone by adopting a dog from the SPCA.  It was a Christmas adoption and it was to be the beginning of, in the words of my friend, the most meaningful and lasting relationship of her life.  This precious little girl would become my “Goddog”.  When her Mom had to go out of town, she got to come stay with all the Angels and me.  We looked forward to her visits and she had fun but she was always happy to see her Mom.  She was a beautiful girl and only about two years old at the time she was adopted.  On Sept.29, 2003, this wonderful and very loved dog went to the Rainbow Bridge.  She left a Mom who misses her terribly.  Of course, we don’t know how she spent her first two years.  Since she had ended up in a shelter, it couldn’t have been a good life.  She spent the next fourteen + years being spoiled, pampered and loved.

It’s hard when we have to let our loving animals go on before us but my friend is of the same opinion as me, we’ll all be together again and that will be a very good thing.

I expect you are wondering why I haven’t referred to either my friend or this wonderful animal by name.  Grief and loss for my friend is a very private thing.  What is important is that a most magnificent animal has left us and we miss her.

A wonderful poem was written about this dog by her adopted Mom several months before her passing.
