Rocko  aka  Rockwell

Rocko is an exuberant Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees mix.  He is a great big puppy with a healthy zest for life.  He is also inclined to be somewhat domineering & bossy, which made him a bit overwhelming for many people looking for a companion to adopt.

His new family saw him listed on the Internet & when they called about him, they were told that he was a hand full and much in need of training.  Undaunted, his new mom & dad came to claim him .. he was their new baby & home he went.

From the pictures that they have sent back, it is pretty obvious that Rocko has a "furever home" & that he is a cherished member of the family, along with his 2 new siblings.

We look forward to many more updates in the future as this wonderful pup matures into the fine companion that we know he will be.

UPDATE - May 28, 2004 ...  Rockwell's Mom writes:  Our little male Cairn, Paxton (in pic above) is very excited about having a potential new playmate.  He follows Rockwell everywhere and tries to get him to play.  Maybe later, but for now he is just too tired from all the changes and his surgery.  We had his claws up on the back of his feet removed.  We could not be more pleased and I think he is pleased to be here.  Everyone who has seen him comments on his looks and behavior.  We think ourselves very lucky to have found him .. look at these big smiles.

UPDATE - 6/20/2004 ... Rockwell has been in his new home long enough now to be settled in.  His mom says he is a good boy but he is still getting the hang of what is allowed & what isn't.  For instance, he likes to eat things he shouldn't and he is not bashful about taking a drink out of any handy coffee cup.  He still wants to be the center of attention & but he is slowly learning to share with Morgan & Paxton. The pic at right is Rockwell & Morgan watching for squirrels in their back yard.

His Mom says:  Good things sometimes take time.  He can't help what he has been taught in his past life.  Hopefully he will learn better habits in the future. We receive continued compliments almost daily on how beautiful he is.  Thank you for all you do for the Rockwells.  My heart hurts whenever I think of all the dogs that are not fortunate enough to fall into your loving care.  May God bless you Carole for all the good that you do.  And, may God bless Rockwell and help him to learn better habits.
