Sarah is a senior full-blood Doberman with cropped ears and docked tail. We got Sarah from a lady that worked for a trucking company in Parker County. She picked her up hanging around the place and on the roads surrounding the place. The lady was loosing her job & didn't want to leave Sarah there to fend for herself so she brought her to us. She has been treated for heartworms and is now in good health. She would make someone a wonderful companion. She is great with other dogs and loves attention from people.
UPDATE - 05-16-2004 ... Sarah sent us a letter from home (with the help of her new Mom). She Says:
Well, made it though my
first night in my new home and am still getting "good girls". There's a
lot to learn here, I got another bath today. Mom said something about me not going to the vets smelling like a "DOG". She even tried to find me a new collar, but when she didn't find one to suite her, she just threw mine in the washer. I met a "horse" today. He's a BIG black one, but seems to be accepted by everyone so guess that's MY job too. Supper's over, Mom's got my number on the eating thing, and I get a packet of Pedigree along with my crunchies. YUMMM!!! Dad has the fire going for burgers and my bed is out there so I can sit with them. Of course when it's bedtime it will be moved into the den. I really like my new Mom and Dad, taking nothing away from the great home you gave me, but come on, let's face it, even tho I have lots of brothers and sisters, there's room and lots of love for all. You and Pat take care and I'll stay in touch. Love you, Sarah
UPDATE - Great Vet Check 05-17-2004
... Just got home from the vet and I got a good report. Got some
vitamins to help with the skin along with some antibiotics to help clear
up the cut on my leg that's a little infected. Everyone thought I was
just WONDERFUL! Since Mom didn't know what kind of heartworm test you
gave they tested me again for heartworms, ehrlichia (sp), and lymne
disease and I passed with flying colors. For now I will be Interceptor
until I get in better health, then will go to the ProHeart. Dr. Jimmy
said he would guess my age at 6 or 7 if Mom hadn't told him 8 so looks
like I may have gained a couple of years. I also learned what Bil Jac
treats are. Boy, have I ever been missing out on the good things in
life! The best part was after the vet we went to the feed store then we
came HOME!!! Love to you and Pat and tell all the others I hope they
find happy homes too. P.S. Mom said something about OBEDIENCE. Guess I'll have to wait and see what that is, but if Mom says it's ok then it must be so. UPDATE - June 13, 2004 ... Sarah's Mom says she continues to do well & that they are making progress on the "don't chase the cats" issue. Sarah has taken on the job of guard dog quite seriously. It's like she now has a yard to guard and guard it she does. Luckily no problem with her trying to go over the fence. They are still working on obedience but old dogs can learn new tricks & Sarah is a smart old(er) dog (none of us girls wants to be called OLD). |
