In Memoriam ...
At the end of the Rainbow Bridge there is a Peaceful Valley
where our beloved pets who have gone before wait for us.
Someday we will be together again.

Sydney

Sydney was a rescue from Animal Angels of Jacksboro, TX and came to be a part of our family 7 short years ago.  She was already considered a middle-aged lady, was housed with 150-200 other dogs, and at the very bottom of the pecking order.  She had been there almost a year, had been an abuse victim, blinded in one eye by ignorance and a prior owner with heavy fists.  She had many scars, injuries and seemed defeated.  From the moment I saw her, I knew she was the missing part of our family  and made the trip to Jacksboro to bring her home.

Her life DRASTICALLY changed and so did ours.  Despite her prior suffering at the hands of an idiot, she became the gentle Queen of the Haddock household and trusted and loved us completely.  Sydney always had good manners, a big heart and welcomed all who visited – canine, feline or human.

She was the perfect dog for fostering kittens.  Anyone that watched her greet a new foster into our household saw the maternal instinct that was such a sweet part of her spirit.  Sydney was so very patient.  She also understood English – perfectly!  All human visitors who regularly visited our home fell in love with her - she was absolutely the perfect companion.

My family has been so very blessed by sharing our home with Syd.  She was in perfect “rhythm” with us and shared a bond that is rarely felt.  We grieve, but at the same time are happy that she is finally free of pain.  She fought a valiant fight, we are proud to have been her forever family for the short 7 years she was with us, and will remember her always.

We love you Sydney.  I love you.  Be happy, bask in the sunshine and keep watch, because we will see you again.
