Have you ever thought about putting together a neighborhood garage sale or a church/school bake sale or maybe a car wash & donating the proceeds to a charity of your choice?  Many good ideas for fundraisers can be found on the Humane Fundraising Website at  http://humanefundraising.com:80/

Animal Angels would be very appreciative of your fundraising efforts  & the $$ that you are able to contribute toward the care of the animals at the Sanctuary.  In July, 2007, we paid over $7,000 to our vets for emergency medical care alone & there is no end in sight.  Almost daily we are called upon to rescue animals from places where they have been abandoned with no food or water, or from where they have been dumped on the side of the road, often after they have been injured by passing cars & trucks.   We always answer these calls for help to the best of our ability but it is a given that most of these animals will need medical care & often it is emergency, life saving care that they need.  Our vets do give us a small discount on services but the cost is still very high.

which will enable us to continue to do the work that we do for the benefit of the animals.

$$$$$  No sense beating around the bush - money is the foremost need of any organization that depends on donations for its survival.  Yes, we have some food & services donated, but it still takes money (and lots of it) to pay for utilities, fencing & housing for the dogs,  medical care & to provide the necessary items that are not donated.

They depend on us.  Can we depend on You?

Fencing materials  Heavy Duty Chain Link wire (minimum 60" tall), posts, etc.  We can put it up .. it is the materials that are expensive.  We desperately need to build several more pens to accommodate new dogs that need to be isolated temporarily from the main group.  We do this  to ensure that they are not harboring any illnesses which can infect the entire population.

Dog Houses  Igloo type (insulated) with floors to give the dogs shelter in the outdoor pens from both cold & heat (and wind & rain & hail).  Texas weather has all the elements included.

  Feed Bowls & Toys  Stainless steel or non-porous, non-tip food dishes and very durable toys for BIG dogs.  The 10" & 14" indestructible balls are a good example .. also cotton rope & Kong toys.  

  You  We always need volunteers and welcome people who would like to come visit & help out.  There are motel accommodations in town or you can set up your travel trailer / motor home on the property.  You might even discover your next "best friend" while you are here.

Flea & Tick Season is Here

We URGENTLY need topical flea & tick preventative in the large & extra-large dog sizes.  Bio-Spot, Frontline, Advantage .. all are good as are several other brands too numerous to mention.  When you go to Petsmart or Petco to purchase this treatment for your own pet, why not donate a treatment to a country cousin in your pet's name.  Our Angels will appreciate your thoughtful donation & will be able to enjoy a flea-free summer because of your generosity.  Gift Cards for your donated amount or packages may be mailed to Animal Angels, P.O.
