UPDATE 8-15-2005:

Thank you Carole! I could not have asked for a better dog. You can not believe how well he has fit in. He is SO smart and is already fetching and sitting. We went on about a mile walk Saturday night around my community. He sleeps right next to my bed in his own bed. He even learned how to swim last night and fetch toys in the water.

I'm glad I could help out a little guy. I now see how people like you are very wonderful b/c there are allot of GREAT animals out there that never get a chance in a happy life. HE IS HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

I will keep you posted and send pics' from time to time!!!

By the way he is good in the car as well!!!!!

This big beautiful boy has been ADOPTED!!! He seems to be urging his new Dad to hurry up & "let's go HOME!!!"

Our Blessings & Best Wishes go out to all the people involved in getting Yuma safely rehomed. He now has the forever home that he deserves. He is a wanted & much loved family member. It doesn't get any better than that.

We hear from a close friend that Yuma now has a new name - Chewie as in Chewbacca of Star Wars fame. Don't know the story behind that yet but I'm sure we'll find out.

Yuma found his way to a farmhouse in rural Central Texas. We don't know why this beautiful boy was stray but no one ever stepped up to claim him. The lady of the home where he sought shelter & help was animal friendly but the man of the house thought that the best way to handle a stray was just to shoot him. He didn't want the dog around & his actions made it very unsafe for Yuma to remain there.

The lady kept Yuma penned in a stock trailer while she tried to find a safe place for him to go. Local shelters were all full as is most often the case so we were asked to make room for him.

One look at this beautiful boy is enough to melt your heart. How anyone could not want the very best for him is beyond comprehension.

Yuma is a friendly, lovable young adult. He is good with all the other critters around the Sanctuary & absolutely adores the humans. This big guy is now neutered & UTD on his shots. He is ready for the special home he deserves .. all you need add is LOVE
